Wrestling Video Game Streaming!

WWE 2k18 Review for VideoGameBroadcasts.com

This game is developed by Yuke's and Visual Concepts for publishing by 2k Sports. This is the nineteenth version of the game. The game is available for all the major platforms including the Nintendo Switch.  This is the first game out of the Ninteen previous versions to be on eight generation hardware.  It will feature a collection edition that revolves around John Cena.  The roster will be the largest ever in the series, featuring over 174 Superstars. It will even feature Colonel Sanders, from the KFC brand as a product placement deal.  Game play will be very similar to the series of the past, however eight players will be able to be in a match at once instead of six.

WWE 2K17 for Xbox 1 Review for Videogamebroadcasts.com

First off let me just say that this is the first WWE game I am playing from the 2K series. For me, the one and only wrestling game that stands alone superior is WWF NO MERCY for the Nintendo 64. This game hit shelves in November of 2000 and has remained as a high water mark for gamers and wrestiling fans alike, one THQ and now 2K Sports, have spent 17 years trying to recreate. Now that Ive gotten that out of the way, lets talk about today and 2K. After a few weeks of playing and trying to ignore all my No Mercy playing habits, I am still up in the air with this game. Most of my time spent on this game has been on downloading and creating old WWE stars of the past that are not available. Stars like Kurt Angle, The Hardy Boyz, CM Punk and the Immortal One Hulk Hogan. The create a wrestler option offers plenty of moves and attire to really make your character look as real as possible. As good as this is, it's insufferably slow, having to wait through ages of load time even if only to change a few moves. Im sorry but since I mentioned it, the loading time in this game SUCKS! It is so unbelievably slow. Even in a basic Singles Match, the load time is very slow. I wonder if this has been in a issue with previous 2K games. A lot of the game looks fantastic, but it seems like the developers spent more time on the well known Superstars who look more detailed and realistic then the guys lower on the card who were less impressive. The Gameplay is one of the things I am still having trouble with. Like I said in the beginning, I am still trying to ignore my No Mercy habits and trying to adapt to the 2K flow. Some of the controls are similar to NM, but it does not have the same smoothness as NM had. 2K controls seem a little complicated at times, especially during submissions and kicking out of pinfalls. Even learning how to do holds and moves on the ground takes a bit of getting used to. Again to sound old fashioned, the gameplay still doesn't surpass the heights of No Mercy, Wreslemania 2000 or WCW Revenge. But it does have plenty of other features that give it a lot of appeal to wrestling fans with its huge roster mixed with many legends of the past. But, some of the gameplay seem a bit complicated. Animation and motions look great. Create a Wrestler is great. I give it 3 out of 5 Star
