Rocket League was originally released for Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 4 system in July 2015. It is now also available on the Xbox One, Os X, Linux and a Nintendo Switch Version is expected to be released near the end of 2017. This is considered to be a vehicle soccer game using rocket powered cars. The game includes single and multiplayer modes, consisting of one to four players on a team competing against each other to score goals. It features cross platform online play between Windows and PlayStation 4 and will also feature cross platform play between Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows. Local game play is also available on the platform of your choice. The Developer Psyonix created game updates for rules and modes, including Ice Hockey and Basketball. Rocket League has won several awards across the gaming industry, and has an estimated 18 million unique players a year after release. The game is based off of Psyonix's earlier PlayStation 3 version game Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars which was not quite the success as Rocket League. The game play includes a rocket-powered car that is used to hit the ball towards the opponents goal, attempting to score a goal. The basis resembles a traditional soccer game and a demo derby concept all in one. Cars can jump, pass, speed boost, dodge, ram and destroy.
