Red Dead Redemption 2 Preview by Vernon Villanueva for videogamebroadcasts.com
Red Dead Redemption 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 2010 hit Red Dead Redemption developed by Rockstar Games. We know very little about RDR2 at the moment, but according to the trailer that was released back in October, it shows seven characters on horseback as they explore the beauty of the Old West. The sequel once again takes place in the Old West, with cowboys, cattle, old western towns and beautiful Golden Prairies for you to explore. Rockstar's official website explains it as "An epic tale of life in America's unforgiving heartland, the game's vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience." The original RDR spanned from 1911-1915, and during this period modern civilization was beginning to creep up on the old ways of the west, whether it was talk about Flying Machines or early Automobiles rolling along the streets of Blackwater. Based on the footage in the trailer, it looks like this world could be a prequel to the original as it shows old streets with old stores and a passing horse drawn carriage. These shots suggest the game takes place before 1911. If RDR2 is a prequel, that means a young John Marston would be featured. That would be good news to gamers who were disappointed at the end of the original when they had to finish the game as Marston's son Jack. I expect another hit by Rockstar games as the game is set to be released in the Fall of 2017 for PS4, XBOX ONE and PC.
