Arms for Nintendo Switch was released in June 2017. This is 3D fighting game that four players can play at once, using expandable arms to punch, throw, block and dodge. The game has ten characters and has downloadable ability for more. The players start with 3 usable arms in the battle, however the use of other players arms have to be unlocked in the get Arms mode. As with other fighting games, each character has the ability to have unique moves. The key is to charge up the attack meter and once that reaches the top, you are able to unleash a high damage charge attack. You can use the switch's motion controllers or standard button controllers. You can even use conventional control methods as well. The game is developed by Nintendo, and during development the consideration of using conventional Nintendo characters, such as Link and Mario were strongly under consideration. The developers found that the long extension of the arms caused a clashing problem with the characters. Characters were actually drawn up in a backwards fashion, starting with the development of the arms first. Felix the character was very unique, they actually developed the arms after the look of a DNA strand. Nintendo will release time post updates for the system, including characters, stages and even new arms.
